It seems we might have a hard time teaching Landon how to walk. I say this because he only wants to RUN! I just thought I was busy before. He can go remarkable fast for someone whose legs are only approximately 12 inches long. So far he's been pretty steady on his new walking legs, so it seems ironic that his first fat lip would be caused by him crawling - something he's been doing for a couple months now. Yes, today he firmly planted his face into the floor causing his little lip to swell up instantaneously. I felt awful for him. I know it won't be the only boo-boo in his life, but it's the first really bad one, so it hurts me too. I knew it must have been pretty painful because he actually wanted me to hold him, and didn't squirm to get down like he usually does.
We're also getting ready for his first birthday party, an event that was going to be very quaint and small. I say "was" because now I'm sending out invitations for a total of 25 people, nine of whom are under the age of three! It's going to be a crazy, chaotic day, but I am so looking forward to it.

So many new things!
Landon is really growing up. It's so hard to believe. Just a couple weeks ago he took his first few steps. He hasn't done it since, but my friend Rebecca insists that it still counts. He also has started pointing to things and then babbling. I think this is the cutest form of mimicry (sp?). It's exactly what Jeff and I do when we are reading to him. We point and then we tell him what we are pointing to. He is just showing us he can do the same, although his language is a little different than ours.
I just ordered the invitations for his first birthday party. It feels like such a milestone. For him, of course, it is a huge deal, but for Jeff and me as well. I mean, we managed to keep another little person alive for an entire year! I'm kidding, but I remember that feeling when he was born so vividly..."They are going to let us leave the hospital with this child??! By ourselves??!"
It is so much fun watching him grow up. I just hope that he doesn't do it too quickly.
My mom sent Landon a little present for Valentine's day, and in the box she included a few relics from my past. My friend Madelene had made me a collage of pictures sometime around my Freshman year in highschool. It had pictures from about age 12 to age 15 included in it, and it was a serious blast from the past. I was so skinny. Not just thin, but I looked skinny, and my hair was very big....it was Texas after all. It just made me so excited to get to see all of these milestones with Landon. Although I'm not too eager for him to hit the teenage years just yet.
